Sharper Image has seen better days. The company filed for bankruptcy earlier this year after quarters of dismal sales.
Now the retailer has put itself up for sale. This brings us to the question: Who would find Sharper Image attractive right now?
Well, we’ve certainly seen some wacky proposals out there in the market as of late. There’s Blockbuster’s bid for Circuit City. And Sears’ earlier offer for Restoration Hardware wasn’t something that the industry was predicting. (It ended up being bought by a private-equity firm.)
Could the Sharper Image situation bring forth something even crazier, like say, a grocer bidding to buy the gadget chain? Or will no one see a market for continued sales of air purifiers and massage chairs?
